A Tiny Slice of Heaven

These things can make a day perfect:

• The children actually getting something the first time, and participating in the activity, and enjoying it.
• The period's troublemaker(s) in ISS (this is a very sweet bliss. You know the class is going better than usual, it's quiet, everyone's working, and it's not until almost the very end until you realize it's because someone is missing.)
• A parent calling or emailing because they're happy about what I have done.
• A student who never does any work turning in homework.
• An F student (and I mean a low F student) turning up with a C at report card time, unexpectedly.
• Seeing the students being thoughtful and caring to each other (holding the door, picking up things a neighbor student dropped, etc)

Just a tiny bit for now. I am going back to grading essays.
